History
The Wapakoneta Country Club was founded on November 7, 1952 with the Messrs. Donald Friend, Richard Brading, and Mark Bowsher. Related articles of incorporation as Wapakoneta Construction Company were also filed that same day by trustees Harold Harrison, Lucas Fischer, and Richard Schaefers. The first corporate meeting was held the following day. Lucas Fischer was elected the first President of the Club on November 19, 1952.

The course opened for play on July 25, 1953 after completing just seven greens. Title to the land was obtained from Doc Peterson at a cost of only $25,000 in 1952. The first addition to the Clubhouse was made that same year
